Vision Statement

I am honored to serve as Governor of the North Carolina Chapter of the ACP. My vision is for our Chapter to evolve into a vibrant learning community dedicated to the highest ideals of professionalism, compassion, education, patient advocacy and skillful practice. I will partner with the NC medical schools and residencies to mentor medical students regarding careers in internal medicine, support innovative educational projects at all levels of training and make our annual meetings into not to be missed educational events. I support the ACP as a unifying force in Internal Medicine and will collaborate with our colleagues in hospital medicine and the subspecialties so the ACP remains relevant to their daily work. As Governor, I will engage our Chapter in strategic advocacy on issues such as access to care for all North Carolinians, expansion of the physician work force, new models for inter-professional collaboration and the imperative that internists provide and be reimbursed for high value care.
