Congratulate our National Award Winners
(May 2021) We are delighted to share that two members of our chapter received National Awards during the 2021 Internal Medicine Meeting.
John M. Carethers, MD, MACP, has been named the recipient of the 2020-2021 Harriet P. Dustan Award for Outstanding Work in Science as Related to Medicine. This award is bestowed for outstanding work in science as related to medicine. Scientists of any country and in any field, whether non-clinical or clinical, biochemical, biological, physical, or social, are eligible for this award. A medical degree is not required. A major consideration in selecting the awardee will be that the nominee has made an outstanding contribution that has been nationally or internationally recognized.
Louis D. Saravolatz, MD, MACP, has been named the recipient of the 2020-2021 Alvan R. Feinstein Award. The award is to be given to an American physician who has made a major contribution to the science of patient care in activities that Dr. Feinstein has broadly defined as clinical epidemiology or clinimetrics, involving the direct study of patients' clinical conditions. This award is given every other year.
Congratulations to Joseph C. Kolars, MD, MACP
(May 2021) Congratulations to Joseph C. Kolars, MD, MACP of Ann Arbor, has been awarded Mastership. To be considered for Mastership, the candidate must have made a notable contribution to medicine. This includes but is not limited to teaching, outstanding work in clinical medicine (research or practice), contributions to preventive medicine, improvements in the delivery health care, or contributions to medical literature.
