Connecting with and discussing the struggles and successes of practicing medicine with my colleagues is what has helped me persevere. To foster connections with colleagues throughout our state, I became involved in our MA-ACP Chapter as a Governor’s Council member, a "Well-being Physician Champion," and a Mentoring Collaborative founder. The Collaborative program I helped create and lead promoted networking and mentoring opportunities at all chapter-sponsored events and was recognized and awarded by the national ACP. As your MA-ACP Chapter Governor, I would continue to bring physicians together to learn from one another and help advocate for us and our patients, especially during this COVID19 pandemic which has put a spotlight on the important role we play in providing care to our communities.

Candidate Statement:
I am honored to be considered for Governor-elect of MA ACP. Through extensive board and committee service nationally and in Massachusetts (including MA ACP Governor’s Council, CMS, NQF, and Massachusetts Health Leaders Steering Committees, MMS committees, MHQP’s Board, CMO Committees at health plans, Lahey’s Boards [Trustees, Governors, ACO, and MSO Boards], and others detailed above), I have a breadth and depth of strategic and operational experience addressing healthcare’s challenges in policy, practice, equity, quality, safety, financing, and more. In my work chairing initiatives and in leadership roles, including having served as Chief Medical Services Officer at Lahey, as well as in work I did as a Deputy Editor at UpToDate, and in my internal medicine practice, I’ve continually experienced the benefits of engaging physicians to put forth their best ideas. Amidst unparalleled challenges for healthcare, MA ACP can lead the way to catalyze change. Together we can guide policies and promote systems that provide equitable, safe, effective, and sustained care for Massachusetts.
