CRAB Workshop on Nuts & Bolts of Abstract Presentations

Baum Conference Center, MedStar Harbor Hospital
Hosted by Dr. Luigi Ferrucci and judges from past poster competitions
Held prior to the Mulholland Mohler Residents meeting (MedStar HHC) – An interactive workshop with a presentation from Faculty at NIH and judges from past MM meetings who critique actual posters from previous meetings.

Doctor's Dilemma® Contest and IronMed Competitions

Saturday, February 1, 2020, 12:30 p.m. (following lunch)
Turf Valley Resort & Conference Center
Ellicott City
10 teams from all programs in the metro area participate in this afternoon contest. The armed forces chapters also send 2 teams. The program winners are given $3,000.00 to attend and participate in the national Doctor's Dilemma competition.

Mulholland Mohler Residents Meeting

Tuesday, May 12, 2020
All day poster & oral presentations in clinical vignette and research categories. During the meeting, CRAB judges review clinical vignette posters designated by each program for participation in the Chief Resident CV Award. Additionally, a Profiles in Excellence Award is given to the selected nominee from each program who provides unique services and activities to their residency program.


In the Spring of 2020, plans are to host a workshop on Skills for Applying for Fellowship.  Look for the date as the year progresses.

Students Committee

Our Student Committee has once again taken on several activities and events designed especially for students. Our student co-chairs include Rohan Singh (University of Maryland SOM) and Heja Majhoub (Hopkins/SOM). We also have several students who participate from our off shore campuses that are currently rotating through area hospitals. Please be sure to contact them regarding further information about student activities.

The students are also sponsoring several other activities including:

Student Corner

Saturday, February 1, 2020, 9:00—10:30 a.m.,during the MD ACP Chapter meeting.
This is a new event for this meeting that is sponsored and developed for and by students.
Presentations will include a ProudetobeGIM Story Slam - A Live Storytelling Event and a Clinical Skills and Communication Workshop.

Richard Williams Medical Student Conference

Saturday, February 29, 2020, 8:00 AM—3:45 PM
This all-day event planned just for students will include an IronMed Competition, Student poster contest, Student Dilemma contest, a Faculty/Student Mentoring lunch and workshops on clinical skills. Look for details as the year progresses.

Community Care Initiative Fair

This will be sponsored in April 2020.  Look for further details as the year progresses.

A stand-alone event for students in May that will provide information on Making the Best Impression for Matches. It will give the students an idea of the types of letters needed for their application, the application process, and what to expect when being interviewed.

All of these events are open to all students in Maryland as well as other chapters.
