Dear CRAB members, Program Directors & Chairs of Medicine,
Please see below some dates and activities for our upcoming CRAB year. We would appreciate your sharing this information with your residents and students.
NEW CRAB CO-CHAIRS: Congratulations to the following CRAB members who will be your co-chairs for the year. We look forward to their participation and activities on behalf of CRAB:
SOCCER TOURNAMENT: The soccer tournament is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, Myers Soccer Pavilion, 7:00–9:00 PM. If you have not already done so, please let Maryellen at firstname.lastname@example.org know if your program plans to participate. So far, we have heard from St. Agnes, Harbor, GBMC, FS/GS/UM.
POTLUCK DINNER: The Potluck dinner for our CRAB and IMG group will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 6:30 PM at St. Agnes Hospital, Alagia Auditorium, 6:30 PM. This year’s presentation will be extremely informative, and will be a mock deposition presented by the Maryland Medicine Comprehensive Insurance Program – something that most residents do not have the opportunity to see during their training years. Look for a flyer as the meeting gets closer.
POSTER/ABSTRACT Workshop: This year’s workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 6:30 PM at Baum Conference Center, Harbor Hospital Center, 3001 S. Hanover Street. This is a very informative and educational opportunity for residents and students and includes a presentation from Dr. Luis Ferrucci, NIH instructor as well as past judges who review posters from previous years and give you the good, bad and ugly about poster and abstract presentations.
DOCTOR'S DILEMMA® CONTEST: This year the Doctor’s Dilemma® contest will be held on Saturday, February 18 from Noon (luncheon served) until 4:30 PM at Turf Valley Resort & Conference Center. We will have at least 10 teams competing this year so it will make for a very exciting and interesting afternoon for those in attendance. We will also be presenting the Iron Med Competition presented by Walter Reed that allows attendees an opportunity to test their medical knowledge. This will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM as part of the contest.
We look forward to seeing residents at these events planned just for you!
