When is the deadline to submit an abstract?
The deadline to submit an abstract for the 2017 Steps to Success Abstract Competition is Saturday, February 25, 2017, Midnight EST.
What is the word limit for submitting abstracts?
The word limit for the abstracts is 450.
Will I be notified that my abstract has been submitted successfully?
Yes, you will receive an e-mail notification that your abstract has been submitted successfully.
How will I know if my abstract has been accepted for the poster competition?
You will receive an email from the abstract committee within 72 hours of submission as to whether your abstract was selected or not for the poster competition.
Does the word limit include the title and authors, or is it just for the body of the abstract
The 450 count word limit does not include the title and authors sections in the system.
Can I submit my abstract in paper format?
No, the abstract submission process is electronic; therefore, paper submissions are not accepted.
Can I submit more than one abstract?
Yes, but you may be the presenting author (first author) on only one abstract.
Can I include images with my abstract?
No, the electronic abstract system will only accept text files; therefore, images are not permitted.
What time do I need to have my poster in place?
You may set up your poster at 7:30AM on the day of the meeting, and it must be in place by 8:15AM for judging.
Will I present my poster to judges? Is there a time limit to my presentation?
Yes and yes. You will present your poster to 1-2 judges one time at some point between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Your presentation cannot exceed 6 minutes. There will be 2 minutes for questions from your judges.
How will I know where to place my poster?
Your display board assignment number will be posted at the registration table when you arrive to the meeting.
What size should I make my poster?
Your poster should not exceed 42 inches in width by 30 inches in height.
