Latino Outreach Program

Latino Outreach Program

The MD ACP Volunteerism Committee has been in existence for a number of years, and has highlighted several activities in our community during that time. The goals of this group are to disseminate information on volunteer activities; support members who volunteer; encourage volunteerism among our members; and highlight members who desire to improve the health and well-being of others.

In 2013, Johns Hopkins Medicine is created a Center of Excellence for Latino Health, based at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Formal operations include a myriad of health services including medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, and psychiatry. The initiative was made possible by a gift from the Aaron and Lillie Straus Foundation with matching funds provided by leaders of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Please read additional information about this initiative.

We ask members of the ACP Maryland Chapter to make us aware of your volunteering activities. We would be very pleased to highlight some of these activities, and ask that you contact Dr. Liburd and Dr. Andrade.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Stephen D. Sisson, MD, FACP
Governor, ACP Maryland Chapter
