Candidate's Statement:
In Maryland, we are fortunate to have a very active and robust chapter. As the Chair of the ACP Maryland International Medical Graduate Committee, I have seen the growth in IMG’s and have looked at ways to include them in chapter activities. But, more has to be done in this area to increase membership activity and to ensure that the needs of our IMGs and Early Career Physicians are met. Additional programs for our residents and students that will make them want to stay a part of our chapter for many years to come will also be on our horizon. Advocacy for our practicing physicians both locally and nationally is also another area that we will want to continually improve upon. As we continue to grow and expand, our Maryland ACP will want to be known as the Chapter that develops exciting, new programs for our diverse population.

Candidate's Statement:
The health of the population no longer resides with the inpatient or outpatient provider. The health of the population is dependent on the continuum of patient centered care. This is particularly applicable to providing care in the most cost effective care setting that currently defines the changing landscape of healthcare in Maryland. As this change occurs, building ACP membership and partnerships with other medical and allied healthcare societies will be pivotal. Educational offerings, encouraging research and providing mentor-ship to trainees, early career physicians, and those in practice will continue to ensure we meet the professional needs of our members. My clinical, advocacy and administrative experience lends the skillset to continue the outstanding work achieved by those who preceded in this role.
I am honored to be nominated for the role of Governor for the Maryland Chapter as we advocate, educate and provide high quality care to those we serve.
