The Chapter Doctor's Dilemma contest was held on Saturday,
February 1. We fortunately escaped the snow this year and had our
usual highly educational and exciting afternoon. We send our
sincere thanks to the CRAB members, and especially the Co-chairs,
Drs. Tahir Mehmood (Franklin Square), Andrew Ofosu (Harbor
Hospital), and Kristine Yumul (Sinai) who went out of their way to
ensure that all of the teams could participate, and that the event
ran smoothly the entire afternoon. We owe a special debt and thank
you to Dr. David Zolet, our Dilemma advisor, who reviewed and
edited all the questions with Dr. Janaki Deepak, who was unable to
attend this year due to a prior family commitment. Although she was
not present in person, her presence was certainly felt. We also
want to thank our judges and moderators who dedicated their
Saturday afternoon to ensuring that the contest was educational,
fair, and entertaining. These included Drs. Sanjay Desai, Stephanie
Detterline, Phil Dittmar, Paul Foster, Sapna Kuehl, Lucia Ponor,
William Shimeall, and Richard Williams.
Every year, this event seems to have a "twist" to its ending.
This year was no different, as the last and final question of the
contest actually determined the winner. Congratulations to Drs.
Naresh Bhandari, Siddharth Dugar, Ji Yon Kwon, and Rihab Sharara,
our first place winners from St. Agnes Hospital, who actually could
say ... "We are going to Disneyworld!" as this year's meeting is
taking place in Orlando, Florida in mid-April. Congratulations to
our 2nd place winners, Drs. Kornelija Colovic, Priyanka Iyer, Ivana
Milojevic, and Aman Opneja from Sinai Hospital, as well as our
third place finalists from Harbor Hospital - Drs. Nishanthika
Navaratmarajah, Ugchukwu Ozumba, Ala-Eddin Sagar and Ruchita
