2012 Steps To Success: Call for Abstracts

We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for the 2012 Steps to Success Meeting to be held at the Uniformed Services University on March 31, 2012. The poster competition will occur between 0800 and 0930 with several workshops and meetings to follow for a half day of activities. See the flyer[PDF] for more information about the meeting.

The registration and abstract submission Web site will be active shortly, and an additional announcement will be sent regarding this information. Do not try to register or submit an abstract prior to the official announcement, as your information will likely removed from the system. All abstracts must be submitted online to be considered for the competition. See below for details.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Submit your abstract online after the official announcement regarding the activation of the registration website.
  • The deadline for submission of ALL abstracts is March 26, 2012.
  • Medical students from any medical school at any level of training are encouraged to submit abstracts for poster presentations.
  • Abstracts will be no longer than 450 words in length, and may represent either a clinical vignette or clinical research. Please refer to the ACP website for specific guidance on the writing of an abstract and for poster preparation.
  • You must register for the meeting prior to submitting your abstract, AND record your registration number on the abstract submission form.
  • Abstracts must be submitted electronically through this website. Once you have submitted your abstract you will receive a confirming email documenting your submission. All submissions must be received by 12 midnight March 26, 2012.
  • An individual may be an author on more than one abstract, but can be presenting author (lead author) on only one abstract. Each abstract should be registered only once, preferably by the presenting author. (Co-authors are strongly encouraged to register for and attend the Steps to Success meeting.) You should print and retain your registration form and the confirmation screen. Acceptance of abstracts will occur on a rolling basis until we reach our maximum of 50 posters, so early submission is highly encouraged.
