Candidate's Statement:

I believe my personal story will resonate with Maine Internal Medicine Doctors. In my 26 years as a transplant from Chicago, I’ve been an MMC Internal Medicine graduate, Rural Doctor, ACP Maine Laureate, Single Mom, Medical Educator, Medical Director, Physician Volunteer and Physician Leader at Lincoln Health. The ACP has been a constant professional thread and source of friendships throughout my career. While developing MMC's LIC, I visited many practices and (while sometimes commiserating) gained a deep appreciation of the joys and challenges of both urban and rural medical work. Medicine’s rapid, continuous development affects care delivery, practice management, and medical education. As Governor, working with my ACP colleagues and within the framework of our Strategic Plan, I would use our tools of education, advocacy and mentoring to ensure that Maine ACP continues to be "the engine and catalyst for growing and strengthening the Internal Medicine Community in Maine”.

Candidate’s Statement:

I am honored to run for Governor of the Maine ACP Chapter. As a traditional multifaceted internist, practicing in both inpatient and outpatient settings in addition to teaching residents and students, I am able to represent our broad membership in Maine. My work in Clinical Informatics provides me expertise in EHR technology and insights in population health that impart understanding of current and upcoming challenges in practice. In my informatics role, I have travelled and networked with physicians across the state. I feel that all of these experiences would serve me well as Governor. The Chapter can rely on my commitment to advance the ACP’s goals: improve patient care, bring together and educate clinicians and influence healthcare policy.
