The chapter is very pleased to announce that two members have been selected to Mastership. Donald D. Brown, MD, MACP and Christine A. SInsky, MD, MACP, will be recognized at the Internal Medicine Meeting in Los Angeles in April 2020. Please join us in congratulating them for this wonderful achievement.
As you’re probably aware, one of the educational opportunities at the Annual Internal Medicine Meeting of the ACP is an abstract and poster presentation for medical students and residents. I use the term “opportunity” intentionally, as it’s both an opportunity for everyone in attendance to learn something in a concise format, as well as an opportunity for medical students and residents to develop and demonstrate scholarship. This year in Philadelphia our chapter was represented by two residents from the internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Jennifer Langstengel had a poster presentation entitled “Influenza-Associated Hemophagocytic Syndrome: A Rare Cause of Cytokine Storm.” Her colleague, Dr. Jason Cascio, also had a poster presentation, one entitled “Acute Abdomen and Crushing Chest Pain Following Surgery.”
Congratulations to both for exceptional scholarship!
