Georgia Chapter
Congratulations to the Georgia Chapter Governor-Elect Designee, Walter J. Moore, MD, FACP. Our new Governor-elect Designee will do a year of training as a Governor-elect and then will start his four-year term as Governor in the Spring of 2015. As Governor, Dr. Moore will serve as the official representative of the College for the Georgia Chapter, providing a link between members at the local level and leadership at the national level. In the meantime, Dr. Moore will be working closely with Dr. Fincher (the current Governor) and College staff to learn about the College and his duties as Governor. Ctr. and the Charlie Norwood VA Med. Ctr.

Vision Statement
I am honored to be nominated as a candidate for Governor of the Georgia Chapter. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the entire internal medicine community both present and future members. I believe in the specialty of internal medicine with the current and looming future unanticipated challenges that will confront the practice of internal medicine. The Georgia Chapter is a vibrant and award-winning chapter recognized for its positive impact on its chapter members and the practice of internal medicine. My role as Governor will be to advocate for internal medicine for the emerging future of our medical students and residents and for the current role for private practitioners, subspecialists and academic faculty members that are engaged in the care of our adult patients. My vision for the future of medicine is that there is a need for transformational leadership that embraces the construct of the absolute requirement for maintenance of the sacred trust between the doctor and the patient. As Governor, I promise to tirelessly work to inspire, empower, and stimulate the advancement for all involved in the practice of internal medicine.
