Meet Our New Governor-elect

Congratulations to the Japan Chapter Governor-Elect, Kenji Maeda, MD, FACP. Our new Governor-elect (GE) will do a year of training as a Governor-elect and then will start his four-year term as Governor in the Spring of 2019. As Governor, Dr. Maeda will serve as the official representative of the College for the Japan Chapter, providing a link between members at the local level and ACP leadership. In the meantime, Dr. Maeda will be working closely with Dr. Ueno (the current Governor) and College staff to learn about the College and his duties as Governor. Education: Hirosaki University School of Medicine

Post Doctoral Training: Tokyo Metropolitan Police Hospital

Certification: MD 1977

Present Position: CEO, Maeda Clinic of Internal Medicine

ACP Chapter Involvement and Leadership Activities: Secretary since 2013; Participant, Chapter Meeting 2017; Have managed Japan Chapter receptions in the ACP annual meetings for ten years including this year's reception in San Diego; Recipient, Laureate Award 2016

ACP National Activities: Fellowship 2000; Membership given on April 1st, 1996; Attendee, National annual meeting since 1997

Other Appointments/Activities: I worked as a committee member for "The Clinical Guideline of Male Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms and a Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (2017)" made by Japanese Urological Association (JUA), offering opinions from a point of view of an internist (Published in April 2017). I participated in the guideline project with a recommendation from the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine (JSIM).

Areas of Professional Interest and Expertise: Gastroenterology, and General Internal Medicine
