Governor's Message
This year's Internal Medicine meeting in New Orleans was another success with over 9,000 delegates from around the world along with 253 Canadians. As always, the education was outstanding, and I encourage you to take the opportunity to participate in future meetings.
For those who missed this year's meeting, there is still a chance to benefit. The annual convocation ceremony is always a highlight of the Internal Medicine Meeting. Congratulations to new Master Dr. Eric Leith and to all our new Fellows. Congratulations also to our former Ontario Governor, Dr. Ross Feldman, who was honored as a new Master.

Once again, our Chapter sent a team to compete in the national ACP Doctor's Dilemma® Competition. Canada was well represented with teams from four Chapters – Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, Atlantic Provinces.
Congratulations to the Ontario and Atlantic Provinces Chapter for making it to the semi-finals!

To our resident and student members, a reminder that your research presentations from your PGE program can be entered in to this year's competition at our Chapter meeting in November. The winners are given the opportunity to compete at the 2019 ACP Internal Medicine Meeting in Philadelphia.
This is a shout-out to the Doctor's Dilemma teams to start your preparations for the fall competition. Combining a practice session and a scheduled ACP meeting can add to the excitement and fun.

ACP’S Work in Physician Wellness
Recent data show that more than half of US physicians have symptoms of burnout. In response to this, ACP is in the midst of a multi-year effort to promote professional satisfaction, support physician wellness, and reduce burnout. Courses are being offered at the national ACP Internal Medicine meetings on work-life balance, resilience, burnout, and wellness.
The American Medical Association, in partnership with the ACP and the Hennepin County Medical Center, has developed Steps Forward, modules addressing key steps to help prevent burnout. For additional resources, please click here.
