Governor's Message - Dr. Nadine Lahoud
Christmas and the end of the year holidays are on our doorstep! It is time to take stock and reflect on the great achievements and challenges that remain. My term as governor of ACP-Québec is coming to an end in a few months. The objectives set by the ACP-Québec Council are to keep the section growing, to encourage the involvement of members and to make available the many ACP educational resources. We are moving in the right direction in achieving these goals. Here are a few highlights:
- Our membership has been growing and now exceeds 800!
- Our chapter was honored with a John Tooker Evergreen Award for Dr. Luc Lanthier's Balado-critique project.
- We are planning to take advantage of the ACP's initiative to develop a physician wellness program through the annual training of wellness champions in each of its chapters.
- The ACP Internal Medicine Meeting April 2018 in New Orleans was a great success. The 2019 IM Meeting will be held April 11-13 in Philadelphia. It will be Laval University's turn to have three representatives in the ACP National Doctor's Dilemma® competition.
- Our chapter has once again received an ACP Chapter Excellence Award!
I wish you all a holiday season full of joy and good moments.

ACP AS ADVOCATE
Did you know that the ACP is highly involved in advocacy? Keep up to date with the ACP Advocate Newsletter.
There are many resolutions brought forth for consideration by the Board of Governors. We encourage members to visit www.acponline.org/advocacy and send me your feedback to email@example.com. The Canadian Governors have the opportunity to discuss and vote on resolutions and policy during annual meetings of the Board of Governors.
Visit the Advocacy in Action page for a list of resources and events to help educate and promote action by US policy makers, legislators and others on issues of importance to internists and their patients.
One such resource is the Climate Change Toolkit – a resource to help reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in your practice –click to learn more.
