Glen R. Drobot, MD, FACP, ACP Governor
I am proud to announce that the Chapter has again received an ACP Chapter Excellence Award! Thank you to our previous Governor, Dr. John Embil, and to all committee members and volunteers for their involvement.
The Chapter held another successful “Meet the Professor” hosted at the University of Manitoba. The students got an inside view of the “day in the life” of an internist and how internal medicine branches out into a variety of different careers, specifically those that focus on the diagnosis and management of complex patients. Thank you to this years “professors” (Dr. Greg Schmidt, PGY 3 resident, Dr. Neal Lerner and Dr. Nithya Venkatesan) and to Dr. John Embil, Nicholas Hargrove, Kaien Ku and Charlenn Skead.
Stay tuned in the new year for “Speed Dating an Internist” which will be co-hosted with the Internal Medicine Interest Group. This popular event informs medical students about General Internal Medicine and the subspecialties within the field.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!
