ACP Caribbean Chapter/Caribbean Cardiac Society Meeting
July 26-29, 2016
The annual meeting of the ACP Caribbean Chapter was held in conjunction with the Caribbean Cardiac Society from July 26-29, 2016 in Bridgetown, Barbados. There were around 200 attendees at the meeting, about half of them cardiologists, many of whom also practice internal medicine. Attendees represented more than one dozen countries in the Caribbean, with a large concentration from Jamaica and Barbados.
Dr. Gerald Smetana, MD, FACP, was invited to serve as the ACP International Ambassador to this meeting by Kenneth Connell, MD, FACP, Governor, APC Caribbean Chapter. Dr. Smetana gave a keynote address on hypertension and also gave a talk on key ACP resources and the value that an ACP membership can provide to physicians in the region.
An ACP staff exhibit was present at this meeting.
