ACP Clinical Guidelines

ACP Clinical Guidelines & Recommendations

ACP develops three types of clinical recommendations under the umbrella of the Clinical Guidelines Committee and High Value Care Committee.

Clinical Guidelines Committee

Clinical Guidelines are based on a systematic review of the literature. A systematic review is a critical assessment and evaluation of all research studies that address a particular clinical issue.

Guidance Statements involve a methodological review of existing guidelines, rather than a systematic review of available evidence.

High Value Care Committee

Best Practice Advice are developed through a narrative review of available evidence and guidelines in order to evaluate the benefits, harms, and costs of a test or intervention.
