ACP International Meetings Update

ACP Ontario Chapter Meeting
November 6-7, 2015


The ACP Ontario Chapter Meeting was held November 6-7, 2015 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Banu Symington, MD, FACP, Governor, ACP Idaho Chapter, was invited to serve as the ACP International Ambassador at this meeting by Irene Hramiak, MD, FACP, Governor of the ACP Ontario Chapter. Assistance at the meeting was made up of a mix of medical students, residents, and adult physicians for a total of around 125 attendees. Dr. Symington gave the ACP Ambassador lecture, entitled "HPV and Cancer Prevention".

Other highlights of the meeting included a simulation lab, poster presentation competition, and a Doctor's Dilemma competition. Two Laureate awards were presented during the meeting. Bernard Zinman, MD, FACP received the 2015 ACP Ontario Chapter Laureate Award for Research Excellence, and Peter Bolli, MD, MACP, received the 2015 Laureate Award for Distinguished Service.

ACP Mexico Chapter/Mexican College of Internal Medicine Meeting
November 11-14, 2015


The annual meeting of the ACP Mexico Chapter was held in conjunction with the Mexican College of Internal Medicine meeting, November 11-14, 2015 in Cancun, Mexico. Martin Herrera Cornejo, MD, FACP, Governor of the ACP Mexico Chapter, invited Wayne Riley, MD, MPH, MBA, MACP, ACP President, to serve as the ACP Leadership Liaison at this meeting. Dr. Riley gave the inaugural conference, entitled "Internal Medicine: Present and Perspectives to the future".

There was also an ACP exhibit booth at this meeting.
