  The Annals of Internal Medicine editors and the American College of Physicians wish to help scientists who, for economic and other reasons, do not have access to Annals in print or electronic form. We offer the following alternatives:

For many years, we have provided free subscriptions to Annals for libraries and other institutions in the developing world and for institutions in areas where social or military conflict has interfered with the dissemination of scientific information. Independence Mall West, Philadelphia PA 19106 USA, stating your institution's circumstances and a contact person, and we will consider your request to add your institution to our complimentary subscription list.

  2. If you have economic difficulties that prevent your use of the document delivery service, please send an e-mail to Susan Klumb (sklumb@acponline.org) stating your circumstances and the citation data (author, title, etc.) for the article you need. If your request is approved, we will e-mail you a copy of the article for no charge. (This assistance is available by e-mail request and response only.)
