Understanding Your Care
Prescription Drug Labeling
Do you need help understanding your medication labels?
The Medication Labeling Project was begun in 2004 by the ACP Foundation to examine medication labels through the lens of health literacy. The initiative was recommended by the Foundation’s Patient Literacy Advisory Board and from the Patient Awareness and Education breakout session of the 2004 ACP Foundation/IOM Annual Health Literacy Conference.

Research Participation
Volunteering for a research study?
Patients have many reasons for volunteering for research studies. Some hope to improve care for future patients with health problems like theirs. Others hope to receive the newest treatments. Whatever your reason for volunteering, it’s important to make an informed decision about whether this experience is right for you.
ACP has developed an educational brochure for patients who are considering volunteering for a research study.
