'The Consult Guys' address a variety of clinical issues with humor and personality in new video series
Philadelphia, September 17, 2013 - Annals of Internal Medicine, and its publisher, the American College of Physicians (ACP), today launched a new CME-accredited video series at www.annals.org/consultguys. The Consult Guys, a derivative of a popular course offered at ACP's annual scientific meeting, features Drs. Geno Merli and Howard Weitz addressing a variety of clinical issues. The monthly series kicks off with two educational and entertaining videos presenting the clinical conundrums of defining low cardiac risk in a patient preparing for elective surgery and diagnosing the cause of severe chest pains in a 23-year-old patient.
Internists can log onto www.annals.org/consultguys or use the Annals iPad app to view the 7-15 minute videos. New videos will be added each month in which The Consult Guys address clinical issues while using humor to deliver pithy educational pearls related to the practice of internal medicine. Some videos will feature "stumper" questions submitted by internal medicine physicians and all videos will be accompanied by resources cited in the video, slide sets, and the opportunity to earn CME credit. The series is modeled after the doctors' popular course, Consult Talk, offered since 2006 at Internal Medicine, ACP's annual scientific meeting.

Dr. Merli is Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Also at Jefferson, Dr. Weitz is Director, Jefferson Heart Institute and the Division of Cardiology. Together they have more than 70 years experience in the practice of internal medicine.
