PHILADELPHIA, August 22, 2012 - Physicians can now access the latest research, guidelines, reviews, commentaries, educational materials, and clinical news through the new Annals of Internal Medicine iPad edition. With the Annals iPad edition, users can:
- Read current Annals issues and articles
- Access 12 months of Annals issues offline, including In the Clinic and ACP Journal Club
- Browse specialty and topic collections
- Save and share articles using their personal library
- Watch videos and listen to audio summaries and readings
- View CME quizzes
- Link to selected MKSAP® and Virtual Diagnosis questions
- Link to Selected ACP Internist and ACP Hospitalist articles
- Search Annals archives
"The mission of Annals of Internal Medicine is to link knowledge to patient care," said Christine Laine, MD, MPH, FACP, editor-in-chief of Annals. "The Annals iPad app will give busy clinicians access to all that Annals offers from the convenience of their tablets."
The Annals iPad app is free to download through iTunes, and selected articles are free to all users. Members of the American College of Physicians (ACP), which publishes Annals, and individual subscribers to Annals will get access to all content as part of their membership or subscription. Non-ACP members and those without an Annals subscription will be able to purchase individual articles or entire issues through the Apple app store.
Annals of Internal Medicine is one of the top five most widely cited peer-reviewed medical journals in the world, with a current impact factor of 16.7. The journal has been published for 85 years.
