Invitation to the Convocation Ceremony, May 15, 2008

Congratulations on being elected a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. We invite you to participate in the 2008 Convocation for your formal induction as a Fellow of the ACP.

Newly elected Fellows have three years to be formally inducted into the ACP during the Convocation ceremony, a moving and impressive event that reflects the honor and prestige that Fellowship entails. Election to Fellowship is a signal honor, and allows the College the opportunity to honor your commitment and dedication to internal medicine.

The 2008 Convocation will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Washington, DC, during the forthcoming Internal Medicine 2008, May 15-17. All Fellows elected since 2005 who have never been inducted are urged to participate. (Fellows elected in earlier years but not yet inducted may participate upon request.) The ceremony is conducted in full academic regalia.

If you wish to participate, please register online using the Regalia Form. Please note that the deadline to register is Tuesday, April 01, 2008. We encourage you to register earlier if possible. The online regalia rental form is located in the members-only area. Please note that when you click on a link to a members-only area, you will be asked for your username and password. Entering them will allow you to visit members-only areas for the remainder of your online session. You can register online for a username and password to access members-only area. Your username and password can be used immediately after you register.

No payment is required to register since the Fellowship Initiation Fee paid upon your election covers the regalia rental fee. Any Convocation participants who require special assistance to attend the ceremony should contact Denise Allen in writing at the American College of Physicians, 190 N. If you cannot attend this Convocation, please note that the 2009 Convocation will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, April 23rd. Fellows elected since 2006 will automatically be invited in 2009 if not yet inducted. (Fellows elected in earlier years but not yet inducted may participate upon request.)

Perhaps you will attend with a new Fellow who is a spouse, parent, son or daughter, or other relatives? If so, please contact us via e-mail (noted above).
