Sara Tariq, MD, FACP, is associate professor of Medicine and assistant dean of Undergraduate Clinical Education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). For the past 10 years she has worked as the medical director for UAMS's Clinical Skill Center where she has helped prepare 4th year medical students for the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills exam. In addition, she serves as the course director for the sophomore class, Introduction to Clinical Medicine II, where she has introduced more active and case-based learning.
In addition to these busy academic roles, she is a clinical internist focusing her effort on outpatient primary care and women's health. Her primary research interest is in education, particularly in how the learning environment influences professional behavior. Her passion is teaching and helping medical students become effective, successful physicians.
