The College sponsors local and national competitions especially for Associates that offer monetary awards and the chance to win recognition. The winning entries in both the National Clinical Vignette and Research Paper competitions are featured each year at the College's premier scientific meeting, Internal Medicine, and winners and finalists receive complimentary registration to the meeting. Free to members. - Doctor's Dilemma™
ACP's national medical jeopardy competition, held each year at ACP’s annual meeting, allows dozens of teams of residents and medical students from around the nation to compete for the coveted title of national champion. Doctor's Dilemma is now available as a mobile game too. Free to members.

Advocates for Internal Medicine Network
The College greatly depends upon year-round grassroots support from over 7,000 ACP Advocates for continued success on Capitol Hill. Advocates communicate with their members of Congress on issues of importance to medical students, internists and their patients, and report the results back to ACP.Legislative Action Center

The Board of Governors is ACP's advisory body to the College's policy-making body, the Board of Regents. Masters, Fellows and Members who have belonged to ACP for at least two years have the opportunity to vote for an ACP Governor to represent his or her concerns and interests.

The COA supports the professional development and quality of life for Associate members and advises the Board of Regents on enhancing the quality of internal medicine postgraduate training and increasing the value of membership among Associate members. - Council of Young Physicians (CYP)
The CYP supports the professional development and quality of life for physicians who are 16 years or less beyond medical school. - Council of Subspecialty Societies (CSS) (login required)
The CSS addresses matters affecting general internal medicine and its subspecialties.
