ACP Chapters
At the local level, the College is divided into chapters that offer opportunities for members to get involved, develop leadership skills, voice opinions, and engage in issue debates. Chapters are administered by local ACP Governors who keep members informed of College activities and opinions on issues. Most chapters hold an annual meeting that includes scientific sessions, socioeconomic discussions, resident and medical student participation, and local awards for excellence.
International Representation
ACP offers International Activities including chapters in Brazil, Canada, Central America, Chile, Japan, Mexico, and Venezuela. ACP membership also includes internists outside of these areas. As a member of the International Society of Internal Medicine, the College cooperates with other international organizations and internal medicine societies. ACP has special events for international attendees at its annual Internal Medicine meeting, and publishes an international newsletter twice a year.
