ACP Hospitality Policy

ACP policy allows exhibiting companies, universities and non-profits to sponsor certain events during Internal Medicine 2008; however, these events may not conflict with the Internal Medicine 2008 Scientific Program.

Types of Events

Industry Supported Symposia/educational sessions: any activity that includes formal presentations and/or equipment demonstrations will be regarded as educational and will be subject to the restrictions listed in the Symposia Application and Guidelines. Only ACP approved Symposia are permitted.

Hospitality/social function: receptions, dinners, etc., where there is no educational programming. These functions may only be held in conjunction with an approved educational program (ie. ACP approved Symposia program). Purely social functions are not permitted.

Focus groups/market research: investigators meetings (less than 25 participants) that target a specific group of attendees to obtain specific data. Requests to conduct research at Internal Medicine 2007 must be sent to the ACP Exhibit Manager by March 15, 2008. The Market Research Regulations and Request to Conduct Research at Internal Medicine 2008 can be found in Section I of the Exhibitor Service Manual.

Staff/company meetings: attendance is limited to the staff of the exhibiting company only, and should not include Internal Medicine 2008 attendees. Exhibitors may conduct orientation meetings within the confines of their booth(s) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

Convention Center Space

All space in the Convention Center is reserved solely for ACP activities.
