Volunteerism Networking Luncheon

This luncheon provides an opportunity for physicians to share plans, experiences, and information about medical volunteer work. Experienced volunteers and those who would like to volunteer are all welcome.
International Reception

This buffet reception is open to all international attendees and their guests, as well as other attendees who are interested in meeting with leaders from ACP and internal medicine societies from around the world. It is also a chance to meet the ACP International Fellowship Exchange Program Awardees attending Internal Medicine 2008 and to learn more about the program, funded by Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative. This program is in its fifth year of bringing international physicians to the United States for 2-month observational fellowships in internal medicine or one of its subspecialties.

Effective Investment Strategies (REI)

Do you feel competent managing patients but unsure about managing your investments? Taught by investment professionals completely independent of financial planner or stockbroker firms, this practical, interactive course helps you learn how to make informed investment decisions. Topics include advantages, disadvantages, risks, and benefits of numerous investments and investing strategies, including mutual funds, index funds, exchange traded funds, online trading, funding your children’s college education, and other vital issues. Attendees will receive a copy of the “Effective Investment Strategies” textbook, written for the course and an invaluable post-seminar resource. Evaluations from the 2007 course included “wonderful course,” “highly recommended,” “wished the session had lasted longer,” and “the best and most useful [investment session] I’ve been to.”
This course is open to registered physicians and registered guests. You must register for this event in advance. CME credit is not available for this session.
