More than 500 physicians are honored with ACP Fellowships for their medical scholarship and achievement at the College’s colorful Convocation ceremony. ACP Governors and local awardees from the previous year march with the new Fellows from their chapters. Individuals and organizations are presented with awards in recognition of their contributions to the science and practice of medicine. Masterships and Honorary Fellowships are also presented. The Stage Party includes presidents or representatives from member societies of the International Society of Internal Medicine, the European Federation of Internal Medicine, and the Royal Colleges and Academies.
All Convocation participants, including new Fellows, receive an invitation to Convocation in a separate mailing or e-mail, with details and instructions included. Any Convocation participants who require special assistance to attend the ceremony should contact Martha Cornog in writing at ACP Headquarters before February 29, 2008.

Presidents who are already members or Honorary Fellows, and distinguished guests representing presidents who could not themselves attend, sit on stage as Special Representatives. Photographs in Academic Regalia
New Fellows may order professional photographs from Foster Photography, the College’s official photographer. Photos are taken on Thursday from Noon–8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. in close proximity to the New Fellows gowning area. Several portrait packages are available. Prices vary according to the selection.
Appointments can be made at the Portrait Desk located in the Hall C Concourse of the Convention Center on Wednesday, May 14, 2007 from 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 15, 2007 from 9:00 a.m.– Noon.
Any Fellow or Master of the College may order a photograph in academic regalia. Those inducted at this Convocation may be photographed in their rented regalia on Thursday or in the photographer’s rented regalia on Friday. Fellows from previous years are welcome to have their portraits taken as well. The photographer will have extra regalia available for Friday’s sittings and for any Fellows or Masters inducted in prior years. Any physicians available for Friday’s sittings may find it preferable to schedule these, since Thursday is the busiest day for portraits.
