Patient Education Tool: Explaining your Kidney Test Results
The National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKDEP) has developed a new resource, Explaining Your Kidney Test Results: A tear-off pad for clinical use, to help primary care providers and other health professionals explain estimated GFR (eGFR) and urine albumin (UA) test results to their patients.
Each tear-off pad contains 50 easy-to-read patient education sheets that provide simple explanations of the kidneys, kidney function, and eGFR and UA results. The sheets also include suggested actions for maintaining kidney health based on test results. The back of the pad highlights key concepts and talking points for providers to use when educating patients about chronic kidney disease.
Download or order the pads in the language of your choice: English, Spanish, Chinese or Vietnamese from the NKDEP Web site.
