Figure 2. Annual mortality risk for men according to age and presence of at least one comorbid condition from the Charlson Index. On the basis of these data, we designated men aged 80 years or older and those aged 65 through 79 with any comorbid condition as having limited life expectancy (i.e., <10 years).
