2008 Indiana Associate and Medical Student Abstract Competition

The ACP Indiana Chapter invites you to participate in the Chapter's Local Abstract Competition.

The Chapter's local abstract competition is open to all Associates and Medical Students in Indiana. The best abstracts will be presented during the Indiana Chapter Meeting on November 14-15, 2008 at the Adams Mark Hotel at the Indianapolis Airport. You will be notified if your abstract is accepted for presentation at the chapter meeting.

Abstracts are divided into three categories:

  • Clinical Vignette
  • Quality Improvement - Patient Safety [NEW CATEGORY]
  • Research

Submit your abstract online using the Electronic Abstract Submission Form. The deadline for submission of your abstract is September 22, 2008.

Each abstract will be ranked by scientific merit, originality, presentation and clinical application. The abstract selection is competitive and not all abstracts submitted will be selected for presentation. If you need any assistance developing an abstract, please refer to the Guide to Preparing for the Abstract Competition. We highly encourage you to submit early to ensure your abstract is received. You will receive an e-mail notification once your abstract has been successfully submitted. Please use your most used e-mail address when submitting the abstract. All communication regarding the abstract competition will be sent electronically.

The top 5 winners will win a cash prize! The first place winner will receive $300 as well as $500 stipend towards a trip to the National Meeting to present their poster. Second place winner will receive $100, third place winner will receive $75, fourth place winner will receive $50 and $25 for fifth place.

DEADLINE for entries into the Indiana Local Chapter Abstract Competitions is Monday, September 22, 2008.

In addition to submitting your abstract locally, the Chapter also encourages you to submit your abstract separately for the National Abstract Competition. If you are interested in participating in the National Abstract Competition, you must submit your abstract separately through 2008 National Abstract Competition Portal.
