How you can help with Disaster Relief in Pakistan

August 25, 2010

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is deeply saddened by the tragic flooding in Pakistan. For members who wish to assist in the relief effort now underway, ACP recommends supporting one or more of these organizations:

American Red Cross

CARE

Doctors Without Borders

International Medical Corps

Mercy Corps

UNICEF

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)

On August 31, the College sent an e-mail to all ACP members in Pakistan to express sympathy about the recent flooding there. The e-mail offered dues waivers for those members affected by the flooding as well as free access to PIER for their non-member colleagues. The College has received many responses from members in Pakistan. One particular response eloquently captures the dire situation.
