ACP Initiatives

ACP Initiatives

ACP is deeply committed to improving the delivery and outcomes of care. We work to provide resources to our members who are on the front lines of delivering care and to educate patients to be active participants in maintaining their health.

We are engaged in two important initiatives to help us achieve these goals - High Value Care and Adult Immunization.

High Value Care

High Value Care

ACP's High Value Care initiative is a comprehensive program that connects two important priorities - helping our physicians provide the best possible care to their patients while reducing unnecessary costs to the health care system.

We have developed clinical recommendations, physician resources, curriculum for internal medicine residents and public policy recommendations around this initiative. We have also collaborated with Consumer Reports to develop resources to help patients understand the benefits, harms, and costs of tests and treatments for common clinical issues. The resources will be derived from ACP’s evidence-based clinical practice recommendations published in Annals of Internal Medicine.

Adult Immunization

Many adults are not aware that a key part of being healthy includes staying up-to-date on their vaccinations. Vaccines help protect you and those around you from diseases. That’s why vaccines are an important part of a well-rounded approach to adult wellness.
