1918 Death of Heinrich Stern, founder.
1922 REORGANIZATION. BOARD OF REGENTS AND BOARD OF GOVERNORS. Annals of Clinical Medicine launched for the College by Williams & Wilkins.
1925 Alfred Stengel, President, and steps to academic leadership.
1926 Headquarters moved to Philadelphia. Edward R. Loveland, appointed Executive Secretary (1926-1959). The College and the American Congress on Internal Medicine merge.
1927 Annals of Internal Medicinefounded. Aldred Scott Warthin, Editor of the former journal, 1924-1927, is appointed Editor (1927-1931).
1928 Board of Regents reorganized. Charles Martin, President (1928-29). Life membership endowments.
1929 John Phillips Memorial Award established. First awarded in 1932.
1931 Maurice J. Pincoffs, appointed Editor, Annals of Internal Medicine (1931-1960).

1977 Robert H. Moser appointed Executive Vice President (1977-1986). ACP Council of Subspecialty Societies established.
