ACP has formed strategic partnerships with several organizations to help tackle a wide variety of issues important to the College.
From heart disease and stroke to HIV screening, these collaborations provide an opportunity to advance the state of healthcare in the United States.
An initiative of the ABIM Foundation, Choosing Wisely is focused on encouraging physicians, patients and other health care stakeholders to think and talk about medical tests and procedures that may be unnecessary, and in some instances may cause harm. Learn More
The Health Care and You Coalition represents consumers, patients, physicians, nurses, hospitals and pharmacists. It's mission is to help everyone better understand the Affordable Care Act and what it means to them. Learn More
HIV Screening Standard Care is a program developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It gives primary care physicians new tools to help ensure all patients are tested for HIV at least once in their life. A joint statement issued by ACP and the HIV Medicine Association "Screening for HIV in Health Care Settings" served as the basis of physician materials in this campaign. Learn More
The Joining Forces Campaign, a national initiative championed by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden provides service members and their families opportunities and support in the areas of wellness, employment and education. Learn More
The College has lent its support to Know Your Dose, a public awareness campaign from the Acetaminophen Awareness Coalition that educates patients on how to appropriately use medicines containing acetaminophen to prevent unintentional overdose. Information cards, posters and talking points to use with patients are available. Learn More
Heart disease and stroke are an epidemic in the United States and ACP has partnered with the Million Hearts Campaign, a national initiative that aims to prevent one million heart attacks and strokes over five years. Learn More
