Vision Statement
Internal Medicine offers unlimited opportunity. Having spent nearly all my career closely affiliated with academic medicine, I have been asked by countless students “why Internal Medicine”. My answer inevitably includes references to the plethora of career choices offered to those trained in Internal Medicine. Our diversity has been our strength.

The American College of Physicians is an organization that embraces diversity. Collaboration between private practitioners, academicians, generalists and specialists is one of the key components that draws us to the College and keeps us engaged. The future of our chapter depends upon how well we continue to foster this collaboration.

I am humbled by the opportunity to run for Governor-elect. I can think of no greater honor than to follow in the footsteps of the outstanding Governors who have led our Chapter. Thank you.

Vision Statement
The West Virginia chapter of the college has been blessed by a history of outstanding physicians serving as Governor as is currently demonstrated by Skip Turner. I feel confident that I can fulfill the responsibilities of Governor as Skip and others have in the past. Physicians and organized medicine are now in the midst of a very contentious national debate on health care reform. The College has been a significant player in these discussions. I see an important role as Governor to keep members informed of the College's positions on health care reform and to receive feedback from our members to relay to policy makers of the College. It also would be important to meet with members of Congress and the West Virginia Legislature on health care reform and other issues. I appreciate the opportunity to be considered serving as Governor of the West Virginia Chapter of the College.
