Vision Statement

ACP members have dedicated themselves to achieving excellence in patient care and in improving medical education and the practice environment. Physicians should and will have a crucial role in shaping the evolving healthcare system and other challenges facing the medicine in the ensuing years. ACP continues to represent the interests of internists in its interactions with the government and other professional organizations and facilitates medical education and clinical excellence of our members nationwide. ACP members should set examples for medical students and residents, encourage careers in primary care and be strong proponents of medical education and research. I envision the Governor’s role as representing the views and concerns of Wisconsin Chapter members to the national ACP, facilitating bi-directional dissemination of information. I would encourage active participation by chapter members in ACP activities, supporting and enhancing medical education, advocacy, continuous professional development and leadership development. To serve as Governor would be an honor and a privilege, and I shall strive to maintain the high standard set by our previous Governors and other ACP leaders.
