2002 Evergreen Award Winner

The Virginia Chapter received the 2002 Evergreen Award for the following program:

Club Med Medical Student Symposium and Competition

The Club Med of the Virginia Chapter offered a Medical Student Symposium in 2000 which provided students in various medical schools in Virginia and the District of Columbia the opportunity to learn more about the College, while getting to know fellows students in a multi-faceted learning experience. Planning began early in 2000 with student committees overseeing the publicity, agenda, registration, meals and arrangements. Six medical schools participated in the symposium, which offered a keynote address, three internal medicine related workshops, luncheon lectures and a jeopardy competition. Hand-held computers, plus a variety of texts were donated as prizes for the competition. Over one hundred students attended the symposium. The Club Med symposium is now an annual event rotated among schools in the Central Atlantic region.
