Chapter Resolution

Whereas, the SC chapter of the ACP-ASIM is a medical subspecialty organization with a mission to enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of medicine; and
Whereas, the display of the confederate flag over the SC capitol, while receiving significant support from South Carolina residents, has mainly a negative influence on individual health, especially of the African-American citizens; and
Whereas, a boycott of the South Carolina Hospitality and Hotel Industry until the Confederate flag is removed from the Capitol will adversely affect the economic well being of the state and thereby the health of many segments of our population, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the SC ACP-ASIM urges the State Legislature to resolve this problem in a manner promoting overall health and well-being of the residents of South Carolina.
