The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the ACP Council of Young Physicians invites you to learn about “Essential Competencies for the Emerging Leader”
Senator Barack Obama, Democratic nominee for president of the US; Senator John McCain, Republican nominee for president of the US; His Holiness the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader to Tibetans worldwide; Jeffrey Harris, MD, FACP, President of ACP; Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, ceremonial leader of England; the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., civil rights leader; Eli Manning, QB who lead the NY Giants to Super Bowl XLII victory; Oprah Winfrey, who leads a multi-million dollar media and philanthropy enterprise.
Steven Weinberger, MD, FACP, will discuss leadership skills applicable to young physicians whether working in private practice, making your way up the ranks of academia, or thinking about political advocacy for your patients. Dr. Weinberger is Senior Vice President of the American College of Physicians and chairman of the Medical Knowledge and Education Department at the ACP-- and a popular and engaging speaker.
The forum will be held Tuesday October 14th, 2008 at 6:30 pm at 2100 Spring Garden Street. Join other young physicians (defined as having completed medical school in the past 16 years) for dinner, networking, and a fascinating discussion. Parking is available in the garage and 1 hour of CME credit will be provided. The program will qualify towards the Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) program of the ACP.
