Congratulations to the Pennsylvania Southeastern Region Governor-Elect Designee, Darilyn V. Moyer, MD, FACP. Our newly elected Governor-elect Designee will start her four-year term as Governor in the Spring of 2010. Vision Statement
A projected shortage of generalist, geriatric and other subspecialty physicians, increasing indebtedness of physicians-in-training, a complex reimbursement system that undervalues cognitive and coordinative care, aging of the physician workforce that is encountering an expanding aged patient population….These are just a few of the major issues confronting Internal Medicine. As Governor, I would advocate for our organization at the state and national levels for equitable reimbursement, work with colleges, universities, and undergraduate medical institutions to attract the best and brightest into Internal Medicine, and ensure that IM trainees, program directors and practitioners are adequately prepared to energetically face the complex and rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
