ACP Honors Ohio Chapter with an Evergreen Award

At the 2007 Internal Medicine Meeting, ACP presented fifteen Evergreen Awards to honor Chapters that created new programs that strengthened the chapter and increased member communication and involvement.

The Ohio Chapter received the 2007 Evergreen Award for their Medical Student Internal Medicine Summit - ACP Your Professional Home. Here is a brief description of the chapters' effort.

The Ohio Chapter, in an effort to create new recruitment initiatives, developed a campaign to increase both membership and opportunities to engage medical student members. The Chapter decided to host their first annual Medical Student Internal Medicine Summit; "ACP - Your Professional Home" during their annual chapter meeting. The Summit gave the Chapter the chance to promote the benefits of membership, inform the schools about the funding available from the ACP Internal Medicine Interest Groups, attract a larger number of students to attend the meeting, and engage new volunteers interested in leadership roles within the chapter. The chapter plans to continue this summit next year.
