Vision Statement

I am humbled and honored to be nominated for the Governorís position. My 16 years of affiliation with the College has been an inspirational and educational experience. As an academic internist, my goal is to engage residents and physicians in developing strategies to contain costs while providing the highest quality of care to our most vulnerable, diverse patient population in New Jersey. My vision is to take the lead in serving our patients with respect and integrity regardless of culture, religion, race or gender. Education of medical students and residents offers a tremendous opportunity to train the internist of tomorrow in the values we look for in our physicians today.

Our chapter has been exemplary in advancing these issues, and given the opportunity; I will invite and incorporate further innovative ideas to enhance the activities and the effectiveness of our Chapter.

Vision Statement

Serving on the New Jersey ACP Governorís Council since 2009, as co-Chair of our annual scientific session in 2011, and as interim Governor for the southern region since May of this year, I have a strong foundation in chapter leadership. I am deeply committed to advance the value of chapter membership for general internists, subspecialists, hospitalists, fellows, residents and medical students in education, advocacy, and practice resources.

Through my work on the ACP national membership committee, I have gained important insights into how our chapter might best meet the particular needs of physicians in small versus larger practices, international medical graduates, women in Internal Medicine, early career internists and our retired, or nearing retirement colleagues.

I am enthusiastic to continue to serve you during this pivotal time in medicine, to create opportunities for member involvement in areas of professional interest, and to advocate vigorously across the landscape of Internal Medicine.
