Vision Statement
Our chapter particularly needs to focus on the challenges that the private practitioner faces today. The northern Governor and southern Governor must work together on issues including declining medicare reimbursements, medical liability reform, professionalism, reduced career satisfaction and decreased interest among medical students in selecting Internal Medicine as a career. I've gained an intricate understanding of these issues through my involvement in the NJ Chapter Executive Committee, attendance at ACP Leadership Days, participation in the ACP Grassroots Advocacy program, ongoing direct patient care and through educating residents and students. I've tremendously enjoyed running the Associates Abstract Competition and have worked closely with these young members of our chapter. As Governor, I will reach out to increase membership, produce newsletters to keep our membership abreast of developments, open avenues for members to become more involved in the ACP, and build advocacy at the state level so our collective voices will be heard.
