ND ACP Chapter Announces Medical Student and Resident Competition
The North Dakota Chapter of the ACP is pleased to announce a Clinical Study Competition, open to medical students and internal medicine residents affiliated with the University of North Dakota. Entries must be based on actual cases which the student or resident has seen and evaluated.
A panel of 3 judges from the North Dakota ACP Chapter will select the three top papers. A cash award of $1000 will go to the student or resident with the top paper. Second place will receive $500, and third place $250. Winners will be required to present their papers at the annual meeting of the North Dakota ACP Chapter on September 18, 2009. Prizes will be handed out at that time.
All entries must be received by 5PM August 28, 2009. Further details may be obtained from Dr. Jon Allen (email@example.com), Program Chair for this year’s meeting.
Call for Nominations
The Nominations Committee is seeking nominations for:
-The Laureate Award - for physicians who have made significant and lasting contributions to the practice and teaching of medicine in North Dakota. Names of past recipients is posted on our Web site
-The Community Service Award - for individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to the life and culture of North Dakota.
Nominations must be received before June 1, 2009.
Community Grant Available
Individuals or groups who wish to do something unique to promote public health in North Dakota may apply for up to $5000 from the North Dakota ACP Chapter. Additional information on application process is available online.

ACP's President Participates in White House Summit on Health
Jeffrey P. Harris, MD, FACP, president of the American College of Physicians, represented the College yesterday during President Obama's summit on Health Care. Dr. Harris comments about his experience.
ACP Resolutions for Spring BOG Meeting
Twenty-nine resolutions will be heard at the Spring 2009 Board of Governors Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please review each resolution and then indicate your support or opposition. Your comments will be used as part of my testimony on behalf of the ND Chapter at the BOG meeting.
