Dr. Suheir Khajuria presented posters at World Congress of Internal Medicine in Chile in November 2012

We are excited to share that Dr. Suheir Khajuria (PGY 3 Internal Medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC) had 3 posters accepted for presentation at the World Congress of Internal Medicine in Chile, taking place on November 11th-November 15th, 2012. The World Congress event is hosted by International Society of Internal Medicine, of which ACP is an affiliate.


Benjamin J. Powers, MD, MHS receives the Junior Investigator Recognition Award from the Annals of Internal Medicine and ACP

Dr. Powers accepted his award in person at the Internal Medicine 2012 meeting in New Orleans. He is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Duke University Medical Center Department of Medicine in Durham, NC and a staff physician at the Durham Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. He is being recognized for the article he authored within three years of completing his training. “Measuring Blood Pressure for Decision Making and Quality Reporting: Where and How Many Measures?” was published in the June 21, 2011 issue of Annals of Internal Medicine. Leadership Enhancement and Development Program (LEAD) Certificate Winner

Congratulations to our Membership Chair, Dr. Sabina Lee, who received a LEAD Certificate at Internal Medicine 2012.

ACP’s Leadership Enhancement and Development Program (LEAD) helps younger members and Fellows cultivate leadership skills to expand their career opportunities and benefit the community at large. A LEAD Certificate can be awarded to any member who has completed at least five out of seven of the leadership development activities within a three year time frame.
