New Young Physician Council

I am excited to inform you that we are working on establishing a Council of Young Physicians for the Montana Chapter of the American College of Physicians. The purpose of this council will be to organize our young physician members to foster professional development and encourage involvement in the College, and to offer support to young physicians in the early stages of our careers.

I hope that I can interest you in becoming involved in this endeavor. Of course, the expansive nature of our state does create some difficulties in meeting to further this goal. However, through the use of email, conference calls and meetings that coincide with our state meeting I am hopeful that we can establish a successful CYP. The geographical constraints make networking with our colleagues all the more important!

The first step in this process is to identify other young physicians who are interested in developing the Council. I would then like to arrange a conference call where we could further discuss our mission and goals for the Council, and perhaps a more defined structure. Finally, we are hoping to arrange a meeting and social gathering of young physicians that will coincide with the state meeting this September in Missoula (Sept 6-8, 2012).

I hope that you will consider becoming in involved in this exciting addition to the Montana Chapter of ACP. Please contact me if you are interested or if you have any questions!

Planning for Big Sky 2013

Big Sky Hospitalist Meeting – Planning for the 2013 meeting is currently underway thanks to the efforts of Brett Kronenberger, MD, FACP and Michael Vlases, MD. This educational meeting is designed to educate and update providers on common acute conditions in the hospitalized patient. To enhance your practice with evidence-based information about patient treatment from a hospital point of view. Leadership Day 2012

Leadership Day on Capitol Hill is June 6-7, 2012 in Washington, DC. This is our opportunity as an organization to have our voice heard on Capitol Hill.
